Menopause Hormone Therapy ("MHT")
Menopause is when a woman’s menstrual cycles permanently stop, usually in her 40s or 50s, as her ovaries produce significantly less hormones. Common symptoms like hot flashes, night sweats, mood changes, and sleep problems can be severe—but hormone therapy can dramatically improve quality of life for many women.
Our understanding of safety in hormone therapy for menopause has changed dramatically in recent years. Hormone therapy can massively impact the quality of life of menopausal women. However, research has shown that very few medical providers have been educated on MHT since these guidelines have changed, and much of what we now know is the opposite of how many medical providers were trained in school. This has led to millions of American women being denied access to life-changing treatment. Holton Direct Care patients have access to MHT included in their membership.
Due to popular demand, we have developed the The Holton Direct Care MHT Program to provide menopausal women (who are candidates) with the opportunity to gain access to up-to-date MHT from Menopause-treatment-trained clinicians, even if the patient is not a member of Holton Direct Care.
The HDC MHT program is a 3 month program, and costs $400 at sign-up. The program is administered by Elisa Rottinghaus, PA and Laura Harmon, NP, at our Fairview clinic location.
If you are interested in a consultation for MHT, please call our Fairview office at 785.467.3182 to schedule an appointment.
